A STRING of high-profile regeneration projects across Merseyside have helped a group of Liverpool lawyers make the next career step.

DLA Piper, whose clients include Kings Waterfront, the Mersey Gateway and the planned new Liverpool FC stadium, has strengthened its team with seven internal promotions.

REAL estate specialists at Mace & Jones have advised on a unique partnership between a supermarket and the Territorial Army – to fund a new store and an army base at the same time.

The Liverpool firm has worked on the deal between the North West of England and Isle of Man Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) and Asda, which will see the superstore build the association a new Territorial Army centre and joint cadet building at Netherton Way, Bootle.

Raglin Care, based in Netherton, provides services for people with physical, mental and learning disabilities in St Helens, Southport, Formby and Liverpool.

The Liverpool office of law firm DWF has announced two key promotions to support the continuing growth of its corporate team.

Paula Park has been made head of corporate for the firm as a whole with overall responsibility for the 35-strong corporate and commercial team across the firm’s Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Leeds offices, while Gareth McIntegart takes over from Paula as head of the corporate team in Liverpool.

EAD in Isle of Man initiative

In what is believed to be one of the first arrangements of its kind, EAD Solicitors has formed an association with Mannin Chambers in the Isle of Man.

Mannin Chambers is headed by Paul Beckett, one the world’s leading trust practitioners.
It currently provides trusts, human rights, asset tracing and company and commercial services. The association with EAD will enable Mannin Chambers to broaden its services and expand into new practice areas.

DLA Piper's role in the £37m deal will see Cains Brewery complete a reverse takeover of Honeycombe Leisure Plc.

Loyalty pays off for DLA Piper

The UK has pioneered some of the biggest customer loyalty programs in the Europe, and the latest in a string of sector deals has seen Avarto UK, which has a substantial Liverpool operation, acquire customer management specialists Moon River Group.

The Liverpool office of DLA Piper helped secure the deal which expands Avarto's UK base.

Morecrofts and Dingle Wright merge

LIVERPOOL law firm Morecrofts is merging with Birkenhead-based solicitors Dingle Wright.

Dingle Wright ceased trading under its name on April 1 and became part of Morecrofts, which has offices across Merseyside in Crosby, Liverpool city centre and Woolton. The relaunched office will specialise in family law and will also carry out conveyancing, probate, wills commercial and litigation work with a view to moving into employment and education law in the near future.

Overseas success for Legal Risk

AN AWARD-WINNING North West law firm which specialises in risk management to the professional sector is celebrating several overseas' successes.

Liverpool-based Legal Risk has become one of the few British law practices to enhance its foreign trade credentials under the Government's Passport to Export scheme. Work on the initiative has led to the firm picking up three new contracts in Ireland, Sweden and Australia.
