And, solicitors James Driscoll, 29, from Liverpool and Lucie Illingworth, 26, from Parbold, are also planning a 2010.

The two couples are all good friends and have worked together extensively during the last four years. Karla, James and Lucie began their training periods at Scott Rees and qualified as solicitors with the firm.

Karla said: "I was thrilled, it was totally unexpected. I knew that James was about to ask Lucie to marry him, but I had no idea that Chris was going to ask me."

James added: "Everyone at Scott Rees was really pleased for us all, the girls paraded their rings around the office and were presented with enormous bouquets, everyone was really chuffed."

Scott Rees' Partner, David Byrne, said: "We're all delighted for Karla and Chris, and James and Lucie - there must be something in the air at Scott Rees."
