LIVERPOOL law firm Weightmans has announced record turnover of £50m for the 2007/08 financial year – a rise of 14% (£6.2m) from last year.

Senior partner Ian Evans said: “In a challenging market, we are very satisfied to record double digit growth for the financial year.

“At a time where both competition and the markets in which we operate are tough this is a hugely positive result.

Patrick Gaul, managing partner at Weightmans added: “We are pleased with the performance of all our offices and practice areas. All practice areas across our three business lines – commercial, public sector and insurance – are in good shape.

“This strong performance has been fuelled by our own talent and a number of new recruits, all of whom have helped to our client base.

“Weightmans is committed to an ongoing investment programme on a national level.
