MERSEYSIDE Olympic swimming hopeful Francesca Halsall, sponsored by law firm Halliwells, swam to European Championship glory last weekend.

Fran was competing in the 400 meter Medley Relay and swam the final freestyle leg to lead Britain to victory in a time of 3:59.33. With this time they also set a new European record and are only one of 4 countries ever to go under 4minutes in the women's 400 medley relay.

Ian Austin, Halliwells’ managing partner said: “This is a great result for Fran. She has the Olympic trials coming up next week and everyone at Halliwells will be urging her on. We are backing Fran to make it all the way to the Beijing Olympics.
