BARNETTS Solicitors, one of the top five conveyancers in England & Wales, has announced record turnover and mortgage transaction figures.

The high volume conveyancing firm’s current turnover is at £12 million and mortgage transactions banked in 2007 came to £7 billion.

Barnetts clients include a number of the country’s largest high street banks and financial institutions. The firm recently announced plans to build its residential and commercial conveyancing customer base.

Joe Whelan, chief executive at Barnetts, commented on the firm’s progress. He said: “In a market which is currently full of doubt, these figures are fantastic news for the firm and a testament to the hard work of all the staff.

“Innovation and technology play key roles in everything the firm does and helps us keep at the top of our game. Continually investing into developing new systems and processes enables us to carry out necessary tasks quicker and more efficiently than ever before.

The firm recently won Commoditised Legal Service of the Year Award at the Legal Technology Awards 2008 for the second year running. It was also highly commended in the Regional IT Team of the Year Award category and short-listed for the Most Client Focused Law Firm of the Year Award
