BIRKENHEAD-based law firm RMNJ have kicked off the new year in style with the promotion of associate solicitors Gareth Brooks and Helen Gordon to partners.

The firm, which has been servicing the legal needs of Wirral and beyond for over 50 years, can now boast over 100 staff all specialising in a wide range of legal services.

Ray London-Smith, partner with the firm commented: "The addition of Gareth and Helen as partners sees us reach a new milestone as a firm, with over ten partners in total across seven key departments. They both have a huge amount of experience and are highly respected in their own fields of law. Their appointment as partners is richly deserved’

Gareth, who specialises in conveyancing was delighted with the appointment. It was the culmination of an extraordinary year during which he proposed to and married his wife, and welcomed his first child into the world.

"This really has been a remarkable year," he said. "The partnership really was the cream on top and naturally I’m extremely honoured and looking forward to the challenges ahead."

The conveyancing department is now one of the largest on the Wirral with over fifty full time staff dealing with hundreds of transactions every month.

Helen, who works within the family department and heads up the legal aid team is equally delighted. "I am totally committed and passionate about my job. This area of law can often involve distressing family situations, and I feel as solicitors we are duty bound to handle matters as sensitively as we can. Becoming a partner has just added to my desire to raise the profile of the work we do here at RMNJ and continue to help families as much as we can."
