INDEPENDENT commercial law firm Bermans has boosted its specialist asset based lending team.
Patricia Grinyer joins the company as a senior assistant solicitor after five years working in the banking division of the Liverpool office of DLA Piper.

This latest appointment, which sees the team rise to ten fee earners, demonstrates Bermans’ strategic focus on developing the asset based lending expertise which sets it apart from other law firms in the city.

Fergal O’Cleirigh, Liverpool managing partner commented: “Asset based lending is a key growth area for our business and with the credit crunch prompting more traditional lenders to tighten their belts, we expect to see a steady increase in asset finance deals. Patricia’s appointment will help us to consolidate and develop our skills base and secure future revenue growth.”

Bermans is a niche specialist in the field of asset-based lending with over thirty years expertise and clients range from some of the largest national names to brokers and SMEs. The asset based lending team is responsible for 40 per cent of the firm’s turnover.

Patricia added: “I saw this as a rare opportunity to join a practice with an impressive working culture and occasion to extend my specialist experience in the fields of factoring, invoice discounting and banking.”

Her arrival closely follows that of two other strategic appointments - Nicky Benson, a specialist in employment law, formerly of Halliwells and Charles McDermott, a construction lawyer previously at Knowles Solicitors.
