Hill Dickinson to represent diocese of Liverpool

LIVERPOOL legal firm Hill Dickinson has been appointed lawyer to the diocese of Liverpool, succeeding Gamon Arden & Co which represented it for 128 years.

Elwyn Edwards, commercial property partner at Hill Dickinson, said: “It’s a truly landmark contract for the firm as well as for the diocese.

Their first instruction is the redevelopment of Hanover Street’s grade II-listed Church House.

The diocese holds the freehold but local developer BPS Developments has been granted a 125-year lease.

Redevelopment will create ground floor commercial units and office suites above.

The diocese relocated from Church House to St James’ House, next to Liverpool cathedral, last September.
