THREE Merseyside businessmen have sold their specialist manufacturing business in a multi-million pound deal.
C4 Industries, which is based at Knowsley Industrial Park, has been bought by Northern Ireland firm Northstone, part of the Irish international construction giant CRH Plc.
Graeme Pringle and his fellow directors David Laidlaw and Andrew Wright have built up C4 during the past eight years.
The company is best known for the STAKKAbox, pre-formed underground access chambers, vaults and manholes.
The STAKKAbox has become a household name across a number of sectors and C4 customers include the Highways Agency, France Telecom, Network Rail and SNCF, Europe’s premier rail network operator.
C4’s directors were advised by Rupert Gill, a corporate partner at Liverpool law firm Brabners Chaffe Street.
Rupert said: “C4 is a genuine Merseyside success story which owes a great deal to the determination and hard work of Graeme and his fellow directors.
“The STAKKAbox is now widely used across a number of sectors and C4’s customer list includes household names in the UK and Europe.
Bob Gore, part of the Mitchell Charlesworth Corporate Finance team, provided lead advisory services to the vendors.
CRH operates in 31 countries around the world and employs approximately 80,000 people. Its head office is in Dublin.
