ONE of Liverpool’s best known property lawyers is to continue to build his career at Halliwells following a significant appointment for the Old Hall Street based firm.

Kevin Lee joins Halliwells from DLA Piper, where he was one of the firm’s most senior real estate partners.

Kevin provides advice on a wide range of property matters, with particular expertise in dispute resolution. He has acted for a number of well known Merseyside companies including Downing Developments, Vermont Developments and Spencer Holdings. He also has extensive expertise in acting for pension funds.

Kevin is a member of the Property Litigation Association and Institute of Housing and is a part-qualified Higher Courts Advocate. He is also highly ranked and recommended in both Chambers UK and The Legal 500 - the leading independent legal directories.

Said Jonathan Brown, head of Halliwells’ Liverpool office: “Having worked with Kevin for a number of years, I know first hand the quality and contacts he brings to our Liverpool office. We are delighted to welcome him on board.”

Commenting on Kevin’s appointment, David Morgan, Halliwells’ head of real estate in Liverpool said: “This is a very significant appointment for our real estate team in Liverpool. Kevin is one the best known real estate lawyers in Liverpool and has an extensive network of clients and contacts. We are committed to expanding our real estate team and to appoint a lawyer of Kevin’s calibre is a real signal of intent.”

Kevin joins a number of former DLA Piper colleagues at Halliwells including partners Jonathan Brown, Colin Gibbons, Richard Capper, Fiona Parry, Paul Jefferson, Beverley Bentley and Craig Scott.

Commenting on his decision to join Halliwells, Kevin said: “This is a massively exciting opportunity. Over the last few years, Halliwells’ Liverpool office has grown in prominence. The firm is ambitious, driven and forward thinking. Most importantly, it is also committed to an ongoing investment strategy in order to grow its local market share. I am looking forward to playing my part in the ongoing expansion of the firm’s real estate department in Liverpool."
