SOUTHPORT and Ormskirk Hospital has thanked a local solicitor for his fundraising efforts that have resulted in a donation of nearly £6,000.
The Oncology Day Unit and the Spinal Unit received the money just before Christmas from Rob Fletcher.Â
Intrepid Rob had raised most of the £5,750 from sponsorship for completing a 735 mile cycle trip to his nephew’s wedding in Jelina Gora, Poland. Money also came from a golf day hosted by Fletchers Solicitors, where Rob is a senior partner.Â
Dr Rak Salim, consultant haematologist who accepted the donation on behalf of the Oncology Day Unit said, “We are extremely grateful to Rob for the donation, and also very impressed with his effort! The money will be used to enhance the unit for the patients at what is a difficult time for them.�
