ANDREW Clare, head of the corporate department at Lancashire-based Napthens Solicitors, has been named the Intermediary of the Year by the North West Society of Chartered Accountants.

Mr Clare picked up the award at the event, held at Ribby Hall Village, near Preston. He was among a group of 12 top businesses and individuals to pick up the accountancy and business awards.

The award was intended to recognise “the individual who has demonstrated on numerous occasions a relentless pursuit to support accountants on a variety of projects and Mr Clare was up against top professionals from some of the leading organisations in the region.

He said: “This award recognises the hard work that the whole corporate department has carried out over the last 12 months: I am proud to be at the head of the team.

“Napthens has advised on dozens of high profile deals worth millions of pounds, and it is great to see that work recognised by other industry professionals.
