Political hot potato for Weightmans

Posted by David Higgerson on December 7, 2007 7:34 PM |

A LIVERPOOL solicitor has been appointed to investigate claims a Yorkshire council acted fraudulently during a planning dispute.

Graeme Creer, of Weightmans Solicitors, has been asked by Calderdale Council to look into the allegations, made by local businessman Bill Ibberson.

Mr Ibberson claims that 'false evidence' was presented by council bosses to a planning inquiry.

Mr Creer, who has considerable experience dealing with local government cases, was asked to investigate after Mr Ibberson wrote to councillors.
