LAW firm EAD has announced that long standing partner Mike Sexton is to take on the role of senior partner at the beginning of the next financial year.
Mike joined EAD in January 1993 and was made partner later that year. He heads up the personal injury department but specialises in acting for claimants with injuries of the utmost severity.
Mike has undertaken numerous cases where settlements of over £1m have been achieved and his largest settlement to date is £2.7m. He has been described as being at the forefront of developments in personal injury law and is a fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Mike will take on the role from current senior partner, Tom Doherty, the founding member of EAD in 1989.
After stepping down as senior partner, Tom will continue as a partner specialising in high-value personal injury claims, covering both employer’s liability and road traffic accidents. He is highly recognised in his work for trade unions and acts exclusively for claimants.
Mike Sexton said: “Tom has done a fantastic job as senior partner and has taken the firm to a whole new level. I am certain to be liaising with him very closely in the future and his input will continue to be invaluable. I am looking forward to the challenge.”
EAD’s managing partner said: “In taking on the role from Tom, Mike has a hard act to follow but he has the respect of the whole firm and is ideally suited to become our next senior partner.”
Tom Doherty added: “I’ve hugely enjoyed my time as senior partner. This is a fantastic firm with great people. I wish Mike every success and look forward to working closely with him in the future.”
EAD is enjoying the most progressive period in its history and has recently amalgamated Widnes based firm Poole Swale into its practice.
