Most recently, Halliwells advised Anglo Irish Bank Corporation plc on the £170 million acquisition of the racing Post from Trinity Mirror.

This deal followed on from the firm advising the selling shareholders on the £137 million reverse takeover and subsequent listing of the Eddie Stobart Group.

Other recent deals include advising the Bibby Line Group on the acquisition of 51% of Costcutters Group and advising management at Eldapoint on the equity investment by Close Brothers Growth Capital.

Said Jonathan Brown, corporate partner at Halliwells' Liverpool office: "Last year was a record breaking period for our corporate team in Liverpool and we have continued in the same vein with some first rate transactions in recent months."
