LANCASHIRE law firm Napthens has completed its transformation into one of the leading law firms in the North West.

From October 1 Napthens became one firm with Chorley based Wallwork & Company, and Fylde firm Cuddy Woods & Cochrane.

The move will make the new firm, which will remain under the Napthens name, one of the largest in the North West.

All three firms have a history of legal excellence in the region, and together will create a 28 partner organisation with 179 staff.

The move is the latest expansion for Napthens, following its merger with Roscoes in Preston and Blackburn in November 2006. The firm has also just completed a major overhaul of its Preston office.

Andrew Ferguson, senior partner at Napthens, said: “This is fantastic news for all the firms involved. Joining in this way will create a large practice able to offer the best range of services and expertise possible, and one that is recognised as the legal practice of choice.

“Separately the three firms are at the top of their games, but together as Napthens we will be able to look to the future with the utmost confidence and the ability to offer a service that is unmatched in the region.

John Crompton, senior partner at Wallwork & Company, said: “Coming together in this way will mean the best possible service for clients existing and new. We are proud to become a part of this leading law firm which will help set the standard in the North West.

Martin Long, senior partner at Cuddy Woods & Cochrane, said: “From October 1, Napthens, Cuddy Woods & Cochrane, and Wallwork & Company will become a law firm which truly serves the whole of Lancashire, to provide a service which is unmatched.
