HILL Dickinson’s Liverpool-based director of finance, Colin Wardale, is heading a fundraising programme which has so far raised £7,500 for those involved in the Peruvian earthquake in August.
The firm’s fundraising began earlier this month when Mr Wardale performed a sponsored sky dive, followed by a dress down day and a “private lottery initiative across the firm’s offices. Further donations have also been received from a number of clients and contacts.
Hill Dickinson has client contacts in Peru who are leading the effort to get help to the communities that have been devastated by this disaster.
Efforts are aimed at helping to raise enough funds to provide each of 30 families in one small community with a tent, water tank and a box of food and medicines in the wake of the earthquake.
Mr Wardale said: “I'd like to thank all at Hill Dickinson and beyond who have contributed to the Peru Aid Appeal, and we have had many thanks from our contacts in Peru for the funds donated.
“The scale of the tragedy in Peru has been under-reported and their need for funds is urgent.
“Their initial target is £9,000 so there is still a way to go, but the private lottery initiative and further sponsorship initiatives should provide us with considerable funds to help them reach this target.
Mr Wardale is no stranger to fundraising activities, having helped to raise over £30,000 for charitable causes since joining Hill Dickinson from various charitable events including half marathons and concerts.
