In addition, the club’s ground, Firswood Park, in Blaguegate Lane, is to be renamed Scott Rees Park.

“Scott Rees and Co have put the icing on the cake. It’s great news for the club, and for the future of the sport at all levels in the town.

Royston Smith, managing partner of Scott Rees, which also sponsors the Skelmersdale Dynamo Rangers youth football teams, said: “I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen of Skelmersdale Cricket Club. They share our commitment to the local community and grass roots sport, and we are delighted to be able to lend our support.

Skelmersdale Cricket Club has four senior and three junior sides, under 11s, 13s and 15s.
