YOUNG solicitors from Chester and North Wales held a barbecue and family fun event to raise money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Supporters at the event, run by first and second year trainees at Walker Smith Way solicitors, were able to meet star guest Ida, a golden labrador.

Ida is the guide dog of Rhiannon Jones, mother of solicitor Rachel Wynn Jones, a partner at Walker Smith Way’s Wrexham office (pictured).

“Having Ida really has made a big difference to my whole life, said Mrs Jones.

Mrs Wynne Jones, who has been a solicitor for 12 years, said: “Ida really has become a friend and saviour to mum. She can now join in all sorts of activities she couldn’t do before.

“When the Walker Smith Way social committee were deciding on a charity to support at the barbecue, I suggested The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. It does so much good work and is desperate for funds.

The fun day for Walker Smith Way employees and their families was held at Chester Rugby Club earlier this month, and included children’s entertainment and a raffle.
