Lawyers to speed up house sales

Posted by Deborah James on August 21, 2007 9:00 AM |

A NEW lawyers’ group dedicated to conveyancing issues is holding an event at Aintree Racecourse tonight.

Eleven independent local solicitors from Sefton, Merseyside, have set up The North West Solicitors Association (NWSA) to tackle the issues associated with moving home and to reduce conveyancing times.

The participating firms are Morecrofts, Kennan Benjamin Kay, Maxwell Hodge, David Phillips and Partners, Hal Emmett, Thos R Jones, Gregsons, Black Norman, Sharman and Son, Breens, and Woolwich Lander and Savage.

Tracy Thompson, conveyancing executive at Morecrofts, said changes in the conveyancing market, including the introduction of Home Information Packs, meant it was more important than ever for small independent firms to work together.

She said: “Our association believes the best way forward for both legal and property professionals, and the public, is for local co-operation between solicitors.

The NWSA meeting is tonight at 6pm at the Beecher’s Suite in the Queen Mother Stand at Aintree Racecourse.
