Independent local solicitors across Merseyside have joined forces to set up The North West Solicitors Association (NWSA) to tackle the issues associated with moving home and to reduce conveyancing transaction times.

The 11 Merseyside firms that make up the consortium aim to act as a single point of contact to correctly inform the public about all conveyancing issues, HIPs and protect independent legal and property professionals in the process.

The participating firms in the association are Morecrofts, Kennan Benjamin Kay, Maxwell Hodge, David Phillips and Partners, Hal Emmett, Thos R Jones, Gregsons, Black Norman, Sharman and Son, Breens and Woolwich Lander & Savage

This unique collaboration has been formed to speed up the conveyancing process through agreed service standards and procedures, which have been formulated by all member firms.

Tracy Thompson from Morecrofts Solicitors said: “Our association believes that the best way forward for both legal and property professionals, and the public, is for local by co-operation between solicitors.

Steve Battarbee from Kennan Benjamin Kay Solicitors said “Our local alliance not only means the public can depend upon a reliable legal service but is also important to ensure that our independent businesses are protected from the larger corporate bodies.

The 11 member firms are keen to work towards the standardisation of contract documentation between members to ensure a smoother transaction for the client.

In addition, the Association is able to provide a fully compliant Home Information Pack (HIP) with prices starting from £299.

To find out more about the NWSA – visit The Beeches Suite, Queen Mother Stand, Aintree Racecourse, Aintree, Liverpool at 6pm on Tuesday 21st August 2007.
