LIVERPOOL corporate law firm Brabners Chaffe Street yesterday reported a 25% rise in annual fee income to £25m.
The improved results come as the firm moves into its new headquarters in Liverpool city centre. The firm’s 220-strong Liverpool staff have taken up residence in its 41,000sq ft office in Horton House, part of the Exchange Flags complex.
The move brings together all the city centre staff who had previously been spread across two sites in Dale Street and Castle Street.
Chief executive Janet Pickavance, who has overseen the move to Horton House, said: “It is great to finally have moved and to have all of our Liverpool staff under the same roof in one of the city’s most prestigious locations, giving excellent facilities for staff and a state of the art client suite.
“A lot of work has gone into transforming Horton House during the past year and the results are stunning.
Brabners’ growth has been strong across all departments with its corporate and property teams performing particularly well during the past 12 months.
In May the firm said the growth in private equity deals had contributed to turnover at its corporate finance department doubling over the past year.
The number of staff employed at the firm’s three North West offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston, has risen from 319 people to 360 in the year.
Managing partner Michael Brabner said: “We are particularly delighted to be playing a major part in bringing one of Liverpool’s landmark buildings back to life in the year of the city’s 800th birthday celebration and in time for Capital of Culture.
Brabners has signed a 15-year lease on Horton House with additional space earmarked for future expansion.
The move was made possible after development firm UK Land and Property bought the site from the Walton Group in June last year. Brabners signed up as its flagship tenant.
