THE data management technology used by Liverpool-based law firm Goldsmith Williams has attracted international attention, as China’s largest producer of petrochemicals visited the company for a best-practice conference.

During a three-day-visit last week, 19 delegates from Sinopec were familiarised with Goldsmith Williams’ state-of-the-art technology-based management system, GWLive.

An online case monitoring system, GWLive manages the data files for all the company’s conveyancing cases across the UK.

Goldsmith Williams’ network of mortgage professionals are then able to access up-to-date information for their clients, including all items of correspondence relating to each individual case, via 24-hour, password-protected internet access.

Eddie Goldsmith, senior partner at Goldsmith Williams, said: “We are delighted to have been able to welcome the lawyers from Sinopec and hope that they found their visit to the UK beneficial.

“The technology-based systems that we use to manage data and process cases are at the forefront of bringing legal services into the 21st century.

“We are honoured to have been chosen to share our expertise with one of the largest companies in the world.

The conference at Goldsmith Williams forms part of a three-month visit by Sinopec to the UK, designed to introduce the delegates to key legal issues and enhance their IT skills for use within their own industry.

Lectures by the legal department at Liverpool’s John Moores University also featured in the programme.
