Law firm Halliwells is now acting for all the major banks in Liverpool, after being appointed to Barclays' new lending and finance panel.

The prestigious appointment comes after a review by Barclays - one of the world's largest banks, with more than 350 lawyers across the globe and revenues in excess of £20b.

Richard Capper, banking partner in Liverpool, said: "This is excellent news for the firm. To be acting for all the major banks in Liverpool is a real boost."

Halliwells is one of just three new firms appointed to the lending and finance panel.

Managing partner Ian Austin said: "This is an extremely positive development for our banking department and the firm as a whole.

"Over the last eighteen months, we have invested heavily in our banking team.

"This investment is now translating into a number of prestigious panel appointments and we are continuing to recruit and invest."

Susan Molloy, Halliwells' national head of banking, said: "Our banking team is continuing to increase its market share and we are delighted to be appointed by Barclays onto its lending and finance panel."
