SOUTHPORT-based law firm Barnetts Solicitors has progressed into the regional stages of the National Training Awards, with the company said to have shown an “outstanding commitment to training and development.

The National Training Awards are the UK's number one accolade for businesses, organisations and individuals that have achieved lasting excellence and success through training and learning.

The firm’s training initiatives successfully met the requirements of the learning framework and have been recommended for assessment by the regional judgement panel.

At the regional stage Barnetts’ training programmes will be judged on planning outcomes, effects on learners performance, benefits to the business, resources and value for money and significant challenge.

Gill Brady, head of Barnetts’ legal training, said: “The firm invests heavily in in-house training programmes for its employees and it is fantastic that this commitment has been recognised by such a prestigious organisation.

"We have implemented a number of new training initiatives in the last 12 months and we hope they are recognised at the regional stage of the awards.

The National Training Awards are managed by UK Skills organisation, which was established in 1990 with the primary purpose of raising skill levels in the UK through skills competitions awards and events.

The North West ceremony for the awards will be held at St Georges Hall, Liverpool on Tuesday, October 23.
