DWF has appointed a new finance director to support the firm's continued growth following its recent merger with Ricksons.

Alistair Young has just relocated to the UK from Singapore to work for the firm, which has a large base in Castle Street, Liverpool.

He has spent 18 years with British American Tobacco plc, working in a variety of roles both in the UK head office and overseas which included time as finance director of BAT Bangladesh, British American Racing F1 and most recently BAT South East Asia.

He was also involved in the integration of BAT and Rothmans following the merger of the two companies, experience which will prove valuable in his new role.

DWF managing partner Andrew Leaitherland said: "Following the merger with Ricksons, DWF is entering a period of sustained growth and Alastair's appointment will help ensure we have the right structure in place to support our continued expansion.

"Having come from a large and highly successful plc, his knowledge and skills will be invaluable to an ambitious firm like DWF, while his experience in merger integration will also be a major benefit as the business continues to move forward."
