LIVERPOOL-based solicitors David Phillips and Partners is celebrating being named one of the top ten providers of criminal defence services in the country.

The list has been compiled by the Ministry of Justice, and only those firms who have had a substantial involvement in providing Criminal Defence services are eligible to be included.

More than 2,000 firms in the UK provide defence services, with David Phillips and Partners in 8th place on the latest list.

Senior partner David Phillips said: “This news represents a significant landmark for us and reflects our continued growth and importance as defender of people’s rights, not only here on Merseyside but across the country.
“Building our client base and reputation has been a team effort and is testament to the hard work and commitment of staff.

David Phillips and Partners has acted for many thousands of clients attending at police stations, magistrates’ courts, prisons, and crown courts dealing with some of the most high profile serious fraud cases as well as smaller scale issues.

The firm was selected by the Legal Services Commission in 2000 to pilot the very first complex crime case under contracting arrangements and the proportion of complex cases conducted by the firm.

The firm opened its first office 25 years ago in Bootle and now has eight offices throughout the country.
