BARNETTS Solicitors has announced it handled over 7,000 new instructions in May making it the firm's most successful month ever, since it was established in 1987.

The specialist high volume conveyancing and personal injury firm had a record 7,137 new instructions in the month and took it over 30,000 new cases for the year.

2007 has been a record breaking year for the Southport-based law firm.

It recently announced a turnover of £10 million for the year and it nearly doubled the number of remortgage completions it handles. The firm is one of the top five conveyancing firms in England and Wales and clients include a number of the country's largest high street banks and financial institutions.

Joe Whelan, chief executive at Barnetts: "This is fantastic news for the firm and it is testament to the hard work and effort that people here put in every day. It was only five years ago that we moved into our new offices in Southport to try and create a firm that would rewrite the rule book for modern legal practices.

"The firm has come a long way very quickly and our commitment to continually investing in new technology and working practices is paying dividends enabling us to be at the forefront of our legal fields.

"Innovation has played a key part of our success and has helped to revolutionise the business. By implementing new systems such as AIP (automated instruction processor), which has reduced case opening times from 30 minutes to just a couple of seconds we are constantly carry out tasks quicker and more efficiently than ever before.

"The firm has launched a number of new initiatives in 2007 but possibly our biggest project is the launch of Barnetts' Click legal services brand, which I am positive will be the start of something very special, so watch this space."
