AN AWARD-WINNING North West law firm which specialises in risk management to the professional sector is celebrating several overseas' successes.
Liverpool-based Legal Risk has become one of the few British law practices to enhance its foreign trade credentials under the Government's Passport to Export scheme. Work on the initiative has led to the firm picking up three new contracts in Ireland, Sweden and Australia.
The triumphs follow Legal Risk claiming a specialist excellence award from the Law Society.
One of the founding partners, Sue Mawdsley said: "There is an appreciation among senior British law officers that firms need to strengthen their overseas' capabilities.
"They have said that Passport to Export has a key role to play. We're one of the very few firms to have gone through that process and it's already had a positive impact on our business."
Legal Risk was set up in 2003 by Sue Mawdsley and her fellow partner, Frank Maher, and has built its reputation on advising major insurance, financial brokers, accountants and law firms on the complexities of professional indemnity and money laundering legislation.
